What, meme worry?

I usually avoid memes like the plague. But this really captured my fancy, so I took it to work, where I have some stuff shoved into itunes. This is probably saying way too much about what I listen to, but there it is. And I really didn't cheat... Though I may get in trouble for the way certain answers fell out... (I've linked to lyrics where I could find them. But sometimes you really don't want to go beyond the title ;).)

Put your music player on shuffle. Press forward for each question. Use the song title as the answer to the question. No cheating!

Slow Week at Work...

I was bored at work, so I snuck out to the theater next door to catch Tom Cruise playing in "Mission Accomplished: III" My favorite bit was when the mission tape exploded, taking out Tom Cruise. Too bad that was at the end of the movie instead of at the beginning... but hey, better late that never. I also regret that it didn't take out the celluloid as well. I guess I have to give the movie one star, since it did have Tom Cruise, and he's supposedly a star, but honestly, it's not even worth giving you a plot summary.

Oh yeah: If you stuck around after the credits ended, some scientology hot-shot comes and mysteriously heals Tom Cruise and tries to convert the audience. Just so you know to get out fast.

A walk down memory lane...

Just saw Robin Williams in AV.
What a retro-revalation! Took me right back to elementary school. Robin Williams is totally typecast as the AV guy for a struggling school. When he cannot get the film-strip in synch with the story tape, he has the world's funniest nervous breakdown. Ok, so the getting tangled in the film after bungling the film-projector loading is old hat, but Williams pulls it off with panache and makes the sight gag his own. After an hour of technical misadventure, the first graders in his class come to his rescue and the film strip procedes as planned. There's also the required feel-good inspirational ending, where the school pulls itself together long enough to hold a bake sale and buy new AV equipment. (And watch the lemon merigue pie closely at the end!) Great walk down memory lane for the Baby boomer generation. I suspect the only interest today's kids (who've never encountered film strips, film, or tape recorders) will have in it, however, is finding out how quickly the AV video game is hitting store shelves.

Free predicition: The 2026 remake will be titled "Holographic Projector!"
