Why Am I Doing This?

And now for something completely different

I'm at my dad's getting rid of 20 years worth of my accumulated junk. For someone with strong packrat tendencies, this is tough going. So I'm going to note some of the more interesting/revealing things I find as I go through my old desk. (Just so Blue Guy can make fun of me.)

1. A little Hallmark date book from 1976. The only things I thought worth putting in it? The birthday of a girl whose name is now meaningless to me, and circles around every friday the thirteenth, along with a reminder to wear a good luck charm on those days.

2. In the same drawer, just in case you were wondering, was a good luck charm.

3. My first passport, issued when I was 3 months old.

4. A set of ID cards I got from my first (and so far only) Star Trek convention, which I attended when I was in high school. These include a Starship Captain certification card, a phaser license, a Time Travel Permit, and Romulan and Klingon ID cards. All duly signed by my then Star Trek captain's persona.

5. A lone Star Wars trading cards. From the original Star Wars. From before there was more than one Star Wars, and it wasn't known as "Episode 4"

6. Shoelaces with rainbow hearts on them.

That's probably more than enough for now. I'll add more if things that are worth adding turn up...
